This interesting museum displays some of the most interesting locomotives, motorcycles, and other transportation means of all time. What’s Inside?
Travelling from one place to another has become so easy nowadays. But, there was a time when people had limited options and struggled hard to travel from one place to another. This museum gives you an insight into all types of transportation means that have been used since people started travelling. You will be able to explore the history of roads, rail, water, and air-borne mobility including space travel. It also displays a large collection of work by Hans Erni, who was a local painter and sculptor.

1. Planetarium: This is the largest and most up-to-date planetarium that showcases a large-format cinema along with a 1:20,000 scale aerial photograph of Switzerland. Enjoy a starry sky on the dome of the planetarium and see the entire universe. Also, you get to experience the most unforgettable spacewalk while sitting on a comfortable upholstered seat.
2. Arena: At the heart of the museum, Arena is a place that lets you experience the charm of mobility in the open air. It features a boating pool where you can enjoy a ride on the battery-powered boats. The garden has go-karts for 3 to 12 years old kids. Bring imagination to life for children who can use excavators and bulldozers in the roadworks arena to load and transport different construction materials, lay paths, and mend roads.
3. Media World: This section of the museum lets you explore the multilayered world of new and traditional media. You can experiment with a wide range of media available at different stations. A TV studio, green screen facility, virtual reality goggles, and 360° photo booth for taking all-round selfies, which is a delight for lens hogs, are the highlights of this section.
4. Film Theatre: This museum has Switzerland’s largest screen, IMAX that offers a whole new experience of watching a movie. It has a screen of almost 500 m² in size that lets you see even the minutest details.
5. Swiss Chocolate Adventure: Know about the discovery, production, provenance, and transport of the chocolate in just 20 minutes. This adventure ride lets you enjoy the delicious chocolate journey offering a treat to your eyes and ears. Also, you will get the chance to taste the creations provided by Lindt’s master chocolatiers (exclusively for visitors)
6. Gastronomic Delight: To treat yourself with good food, this museum has ample of options including a food truck, Mercato café bar and restaurant, film theatre lounge, Piccard restaurant, etc. You can enjoy some of the delicious food and drinks at these restaurants.
