Launch Of Two New Fast Trains In October!

India has come up with the launch of two new trains that are known for their fast speed and short route. Vande Bharat or Train 18 is a semi-high speed intercity electric multiple unit that is extremely fast in speed and have few stoppages. The route of this train is from Delhi to Katra. It was flagged off on 3rd October 2019 by home minister Amit Shah to cut short the route of Delhi to Katra for the pilgrims. On the other hand, Tejas Express is launched as a “Corporate Train” between Delhi and Lucknow by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath on 4th October 2019.

1. Vande Bharat

Vande Bharat has 16 air-conditioned coaches with diverse amenities including wi-fi, GPS-based infotainment system, bio vacuum toilets, CCTV surveillance, and much more. This train features an engine-less self-propelled trainset that aids in fast acceleration as well as deceleration. This has helped in reducing the travelling time to up to 40%. Thus, travelers will reach Katra within 8 hours which earlier used to be around 12 to 14 hours. Also, it features windows with a special provision of stone-pelting and a cattle guard.

Operation Schedule:

  • Train No. 22439 operates six days from New Delhi Railway Station except on Tuesday
  • Train No. 22440 operates six days from Katra Railway Station except on Tuesday

Fare:

  • Minimum fare for chair car is INR 1,630 *
  • Minimum fare for executive chair car is INR 3,015*

  • Ambala
  • Ludhiana
  • Jammu Tawi

2. Tejas Express

Tejas Express is known as one of the outstanding trains that operate between New Delhi and Lucknow Junction. It is known as the first private and corporate train of India with amazing facilities and fast speed. It has reduced the travelling time between these two cities to 6.15 hours from the 6.40 hours. Moreover, this transport is environmentally friendly.

Operation Schedule:

Train No. 12586 operates from New Delhi Railway Station on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday

Fare:

  • Fare for AC chair car is INR 1,280*
  • Fare for executive chair car is INR 2,450*
